If you’ve completed one—or more—of these added sugar detoxes with me in the past, you know how rewarding it can be! (And how each detox is easier than the last.) If this is your first time doing any sort of sugar detox, I’m thrilled you’re taking on the challenge! Either way, you can reap the benefits of removing added sugar from your diet for a week.
The detox itself is seven days, but this program is about a week and a half long to include your preparation for the detox and your transition back to normal routine after it. You’ll gain a better understanding of the foods and drinks you’re choosing as fuel for your body and become more aware of the ingredients in them. You’re sure to be surprised by how much added sugar you’re consuming on a daily basis, and you’ll begin to appreciate the taste of natural sugars so much more. The goal is for you to finish the detox with a new understanding of the added sugars in your diet, and for your tastebuds to evolve so that you crave less sugary processed foods 🙂
Recipes are all gluten-free and dairy-free with an option for grain-free 🙂 I encourage you to use whatever proteins you’d like, especially if you follow a vegan or vegetarian diet.

I honestly think this is the first detox I have completed successfully without complaint. During this detox you discover how much added sugar is in the products you eat daily and it is crazy! Normally cutting out something entirely from my diet is difficult but with the recipes Rachael provides, it was SO easy. The recipes are all filling and delicious and has made me more excited to cook healthier on a daily basis. I could see my energy change towards the end too, it was just my luck the detox started on my first week of grad school. Normally working full time plus classes would’ve burned me out each day, but I felt focused and energized all day long while on this. Highly recommend this book! The recipes are AMAZING and Rachael makes it very easy to follow. She makes a grocery list for you so you know exactly what you need. I instantly felt less bloated from this detox! I really learned to read the labels of my food more carefully and I’m still making the smoothies every morning from this book. This guide gives you all the tools to set you up for success for the detox! All of her recipes are pretty simple and easy to do as well as delicious! I was nervous to start the detox as it was a certain time of the month and knew I would be getting cravings like crazy but the detox actually improved my normal symptoms of bloating and cramps. It did take the first few days but I noticed I had more energy and did not even have to try that hard to avoid sugar.
