This year, Bridge and I made the decision to escape the Seattle winter and drive down to Arizona for a month. For those who are new to my page, we both grew up in Washington and have essentially been there our entire lives. Last winter I remember getting to the point where I was so depressed from the weather in January that we talked about snowbirding in 2022. We were definitely ready for a change and we had the best time in Scottsdale. I rounded up all the places we ate at and added the recommendations from a lot of you below. Let me just say, I’ve never not cooked this long in my life haha it was so nice being in an area where there were so many food options, so we definitely took advantage! Let me know if I missed anything 🙂

*Asterisks are where we went and would recommend

*The Henry: such a cute vibe. They have a coffee shop and a separate restaurant. I always got the chicken with roasted carrots. Unreal. Right at the start of Arcadia. Grab a coffee on the weekend, then go walk Exeter street nearby to see all the beautiful houses in the area.
*Diego pops: we love this Mexican food spot!
*La Grande Orange: anything from salads, pizza, breakfast, cute shop inside, etc.
*The Original Chop Shop: salads and bowls
*Barrio Queen: another great Mexican food spot. Get the guac with pomegranate seeds!
*Flower Child: we ordered from here way too often. I get the Mother Earth Bowl with salmon, no grains, add extra greens. Such a staple!
*Farm and craft

*Toca Madera: upscale Mexican. A must-go
*Tocaya: bowls, salads, burritos, tacos
*Francine in Old Town: loved this place! French Mediterranean and focuses on olive oil instead of butter
*The Royal Palm Restaurant
*Ingo’s: not a large menu, but salads and burgers
*Kaleidoscope: the best smoothies, gluten-free and dairy-free muffins, juices, ginger shots
*The Collins
*Pita Jungle: hummus, gyros, salads, salmon

  1. Highly recommend Firebird in Gilbert, Isabel’s Amour (mexican) in Gilbert, and Playa Bowls (açaí) in Queen Creek. 😁
