New craving unlocked: Avocado Egg Salad (No Mayo!) with Everything Bagel Seasoning. A fresh take on my original Avocado Egg Salad recipe that went viral, this is a simple, nourishing lunch (or really, anytime kind of meal) that checks all the boxes.
It’s creamy, high-protein, and totally mayo-free—thanks to heart-healthy avocado and zesty lemon juice. Takes 5 minutes to make once you have the hard-boiled eggs prepped, and never seems to get old. One of my favorite quick-and-easy, go-to lunch or snacks.
Why You’ll Love This Avocado Egg Salad (No Mayo!)
I can’t be the only one who is reminded of going camping as a kid when they think about egg salad, right?
Never mind the nostalgia, because this isn’t your average egg salad. This is a high-protein, nutrient-rich, creamy avocado egg salad, made without mayo, and with Everything Bagel seasoning. I got you, my non-mayo-loving and EBTB-obsessed girlies!
Swapping mayo for avocado not only keeps things lighter, but it also adds fiber, healthy fats, and a buttery texture that pairs perfectly with pasture-raised eggs. And the Everything Bagel seasoning gives it a little crunch and a ton of flavor.
Basically, it’s everything you want in a high-protein, low-carb lunch. Bonus points for how quickly and easily it comes together. It’s seriously the best.
Nutrient-Dense Ingredients That Fuel You
I love making nutritiously delicious recipes and sharing all the nutrition fun facts to go along with ‘em (IYKYK). Soo, here are a few for you to share with your friends and fam when you wow them with this healthy egg salad recipe.
- Avocado is rich in monounsaturated fats that support heart health and keep you full longer.
- Pasture-raised eggs are a great source of protein, choline, and omega-3s. Nature’s multi-vitamin, as they say!
- Lemon juice adds a burst of vitamin C and brightness.
- And that Everything Bagel seasoning? A flavor bomb of sesame, garlic, and onion that makes this egg salad anything but boring.
Serve it in lettuce wraps, on your favorite gluten-free toast (nothing beats it on sourdough), or enjoy it straight from the bowl—you really can’t go wrong.
I hope you love this flavorful twist on a classic. Let me know what you think below, and tag me @rachaelsgoodeats when you make it!

RECIPE SUBSTITUTIONS & QUESTIONS
If (unlike me, lol) you’re a mayo lover, feel free to use mayo instead of avocado—start small and add more as needed to get your preferred consistency.
Want to mix it up? Swap the avocado for mashed hummus or plain Greek yogurt if you’re not avoiding dairy (or your favorite plain, dairy-free yogurt). Not an Everything Bagel fan? Try a sprinkle of paprika, chives, or your favorite seasoning blend. You can also add chopped celery or red onion for extra crunch.
How long does avocado egg salad last in the fridge?
This Avocado Egg Salad is best enjoyed fresh, but it will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To help prevent browning, press a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap directly on the surface before sealing.
