If you’re a breastfeeding mom, or if you were following along with my freezer-supply saga (you can read all about it here) you’ll know how unfortunate it was that I lost my freezer-supply because of high-lipase. It was so frustrating and made me feel so hopeless – I had spent so much time building up a stash so that my baby could have plenty of milk when I’m gone for short periods of time.

On top of that issue, I noticed my milk supply starting to decrease dramatically. Both of these issues just compounded stress and made me desperate to boost my supply so that I could try different methods of freezing my milk, and just make sure I’m making enough milk to feed my baby.

My Top 4 Tips To Increase Milk Supply

I swear by these 4 tips below – this combination boosted my supply so quickly and gave me so much confidence!

  • Hydrate. TONS of water, electrolytes (I love these no added-sugar packets), coconut water, etc.
  • Nutrient-dense meals and snacks. I add fruits and veggies to every meal, cook with a variety of protein sources, and always have complex carbohydrates.
  • Lots of calories! Not only are my meals nutrient-dense, but calorie dense too. I prefer a high-protein diet with lots of healthy-fats, it’s a magical combination. Lots of animal protein, olive oil, avocado, nuts, etc.
  • Supplements. Of course, make sure you’re taking the right supplements for your needs through every phase of motherhood!
