Father’s Day is the perfect excuse to celebrate the dad, husband, or father figure in your life with something sweet — and better yet, better-for-you. Whether he’s all about salty, savory snacks or has a serious sweet tooth, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite healthy Father’s Day recipes that are simple to make, full of flavor, and made with real ingredients.
These wholesome desserts and snacks are a thoughtful way to show a little extra love this weekend. Hope you enjoy! And if you make any of these treats, be sure to tag me @rachaelsgoodeats on IG — I love seeing your recreations. xx
Honey-Glazed Garlic Chicken Wings
Starting off strong with these finger-lickin’ good wings. If there’s one snack you need on your Father’s Day menu, let it be this. Bridger’s a big wing guy so when they disappeared minutes after I first made these for him and he requested them for his birthday dinner; I knew the recipe was a keeper. Unlike most of the restaurant versions, these wings are baked, not fried, yet maintain the most insane flavor. And I’m beyond confident they’ll be a household hit for you too.
Peppermint Patties
True to the RGE style, this homemade sweet treat is a spinoff of the classic candy, but made with minimal and wholesome ingredients—aka one of those better-for-you treats for dad. Such an easy, no-bake, decadently delicious indulgence that’ll have you never wanting to buy the store-bought version again. Makes for the best after-dinner treat or anytime sweet snack, they store well in the freezer, and will leave any peppermint lover drooling. Peppermint Pattie perfection!
Greek Feta Fries
Bridger and I did our honeymoon in Greece (full itinerary here), and I’ve always loved Mediterranean food, so this insanely delicious recipe will always have a special place in my foodie heart. The EVOO, flaky sea salt, slightly-tangy crumbled feta, and herby oregano all sprinkled on top truly make these Greek Feta Fries chef’s kiss. Not gonna lie, these fries taste, and look, way more gourmet than the effort it takes to make. One of the easiest, and tastiest, Father’s Day snack recipes to whip up this year.
Bite-Sized Twix Cups
These are the bite-sized version of my OG Healthy Twix Bars, are so, so good, and made with three layers: a perfectly crunchy shortbread layer, a smooth and sweet caramel layer, and a velvety chocolate coating. They’re gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free, but 100% do not sacrifice taste. They’re an ideal sweet treat for your favorite guy with a sweet tooth. Grab the mini silicone candy mold I used to make these: linked here in my Amazon storefront.
BBQ & Goat Cheddar Chicken Taquitos
These high-protein taquitos might be my most genius snack recipe yet. They’re crunchy, cheesy, and so incredibly delicious. Served with the yummiest homemade BBQ dipping sauce, and made with the classic RGE better-for-you approach, they’re baked – not fried, and you wouldn’t even know it. Easy to whip up, protein-packed and filled with taste, they make for the most perfect appetizer or snack. Prepare to impress the whole fam with this one!
Chewy Snack Bars
One of my favorite recipes from my first cookbook, Rachael’s Good Eats. Sweetened with honey only and a dark chocolate drizzle on top, they qualify as both a healthy snack and dessert. And they’re bound to please all the salty-snack and sweet treat-loving dads out there. Keep these crave-worthy bars in the fridge (or freezer); you’re going to be obsessed.
